Collage in Nice

On holiday in Nice, being in a different place, giving myself some space to work on some sketchbook collage in the afternoons. I take a collage pack with me, turquoise gel plate prints, yellow and pink acrylic paint brush marks, brown envelopes, Japanese papers, yellowed pages from old books, black and white pictures from a book about dance and print outs of my sunflower photographs. Then I look around to see what publications I can find in art galleries and books in second hand shops, packaging from bread shops, like a magpie searching out the best images.

Inspiration comes from the place I’m in. I’m so lucky to be in Nice, where the light is so bright and the sea is so blue.
